STANDUP GETDOWN is an anarchic thirty minute comedy and music TV pilot recorded in front of a live audience at an intimate London venue featuring a strong emphasis on character-based comedy, musical comedy, progressive stand-up comedy, innovative non-comedic musical acts, and avant garde performance artists.
The show features four regular characters: the dynamic charismatic host music mogul HILTON CONSTELLATION (played by Patrick Koupland), multi-talented philandering rockstar JOHNNY WINDOWS (Cem Pakiry-Turgut), his drug-addled wildman bandmate SCOTT FREE (John Glynn), and the event’s resident DJ steely streetwise Anglo-Jamaican SHITTEE PEE (Ruel Rowe).
The three guest acts featured in the pilot episode are stand up comedian OPEN MIKE (otherwise known as Michael Chilokoa), harmonica-beatboxer MOSES CONCAS, and impressionist LEWIS MACLEOD.
Michael recently ventured into the world of stand up as the result of a bet instigated by his friends who wagered that he wouldn’t have the courage to do it. Proving them wrong, he has since gone on to take to the stage at every possible opportunity. A born and bred Hackneyite, much of his cutting edge conversational comedy stems from the palpable changes that he has witnessed in his native borough and so many similar others across the capital.
Overall grand winner of ‘Italia’s Got Talent’ 2016, Sardinian born Moses started busking on the streets of London when he emigrated here in 2013. However, he was quickly snapped up and thrust into the limelight at prestigious venues such as The Box in Soho, Barfly in Camden, and the RVLRY Festival in Kensington, before finding superstardom in his native homeland.
Professional impressionist Lewis’ vast diverse slate of impersonations accounts for his regular appearances on ITV’s ‘Newzoids’ and Radio 4’s ‘Dead Ringers’ and appears in the pilot in character as MP Boris Johnson.
